can cutscenes be skipped? Yes but you have to pause the game, select "skip cutscene" and then say "yes, I really want to skip it". Then you have to sit through a quick loading screen before it gets back to gameplay. Kind of annoying, especially if you are trying to replay a memory to get 100% synchronization and have to sit through a cutscene
The problem is you are looking at Black Flag as a standalone game and not part of a series of games, I'll admit the modern story of Black Flag and Rogue weren't as good as Desmond's arc, but still build upon the world those prior Assassins Creed games built.
